How much free software, web 2.0 applications, browser plugins, wikis, blogs, social networking, content sharing, folksonomies (whatever they are!), widgets and gadgets can you handle?
Well, this site is just another one to add to the jumble. A good one hopefully. It is created online using a web-design tool built into a website called SynthaSite. More details below. Here on this page there are some other bits and bobs that you may find interest in. There is a focus on design and technology applications, but there is also some really good e-learning stuff.

This website was built in a web browser without downloading any software. It is completely free. www.synthasite.com
- Very easy and quick to build your own website - no technical knowledge required.
- Pages are created from good-looking templates, which can be customised.
- It is free of adverts - very unusual for free web-based site builder.
- Registration is with an email address only. You create a free account, with your own password.
- You choose the name for the site you build (I chose 'Desk Tidy')
- Lots of add-ons such as Flickr streams, YouTube videos and Google Gadgets can be... erm added on.
- Upload your own images too.
Go to my Building an online portfolio page to see how building a website in SynthaSite (and Apple's iWeb) can be used as an excelent tool for creating portfolios of students' work in design and technolgy and other subject areas. |
